And It's Official!

I am now the owner of Red Bloom Photography. I just received confirmation from the State and after a few more steps (business license etc) I will be ready to go. The plan isn't to do this full time, just on the side. It really is an excuse to do my hobby and maybe make a little money. That's it. Wouldn't it be great to earn a little extra doing something I like?!

So there's the good news. I am putting together a logo for my business cards and a blog with some of the things I've done lately.

I'm pretty excited for the photography part and the business part of things. It's something new and I've always wanted to own a side business...ever since I was little. Things I have done:

Age 6: "Kids Cooking Restaurant" (I named it...at 5 yrs) I had the plastic food, prices, a register, the whole deal.

Age 8: Friendship bracelets for sale, 50 cents

...and that's about where it ended, but I was quite the young entrepreneuer. Good thing I didn't know about taxes back then.

Well, here goes nothing! If anyone has some good tips for just starting out, that would be super.

My New Baby

So...I have wanted a DSLR for over 4 years. Really. Bad. I have always loved taking pictures and my cute little point and shoot only has so many picture skills. Either the time hasn't been right, or it's too expensive, or blah, blah, blah. FINALLY Canon came out with an entry-level DSLR that had a lot of the features of their new semi-pro, the 7D.

And then the Rebel T2i was born. ;)

Oh, and I love accesories...like an 18-55 and 55-250 lens. Pretty sweet. I love it! I'm so excited. I will be taking classes over the next few months so I can learn all the basics and some of the fun advanced stuff I need to know to take some sweet pics...so let me know when I can come and practice on you/your families. ;)

I also needed a bag for this sweet little deal and here it is...it's still on the way and I'm excited for my camera to have a new home besides the purse it is in now.

I might be in love...maybe. :D This camera might just change my life...

New Blog

Life is an adventure...dating is one of the most interesting ones...ha ha am I starting a "dating advice" blog? Heck no! That would be rather frightening. I find that we run out of ideas every so often and need a little boost...and not an expensive boost either.

I decided to write a blog with ideas for cheap dating. No, you're not going out WITH a cheap date, just ON a cheap date. I just thought I would clarify. ;)

Seriously, expectations are so high as far as dates go, so why not trim things down without having to sacrifice? This blog is dedicated to inexpensive (relatively) restaurant reviews and ideas for activities. I think it will be helpful to marrieds too, as we are all trying to save money.
